Privacy & data protection

Kept simple: we collect only what is needed to ship your order and run the store, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

1.What we collect

  • Account data — your name, email, password (stored only as an argon2id hash), and saved shipping addresses.
  • Order data — the items you buy, prices, order status, shipping address, and the last four digits of your card (held by Stripe, never by us).
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, language, and anonymised, cookie-free usage events via Cloudflare Web Analytics.
  • Quick-order requests — when you send an order request through a quick-order link, we record the IP address it was sent from and its approximate location (city, region, country and network provider) to prevent fraud.
  • Referral source — if you arrive through a referral link or from an AI assistant (for example ChatGPT or Perplexity), which source referred you; it is stored with any order you place.

2.How we use it

  • To fulfil, ship, and support your orders.
  • To respond to your questions and service requests.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the store secure.
  • To meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
  • To understand which channels — including referral links and AI assistants — bring customers to the store.

3.Payments

We never store full card numbers. All payments are processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). Stripe’s handling of your card data is governed by its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

4.Who we share with

Who we share with

We never sell personal data. We share it only with the providers needed to complete your order — shipping carriers, Stripe for payments, and our email provider for transactional messages — or when the law requires it.

5.Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@asiafooddepot.com. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA; Quebec residents under Law 25; other Canadian residents under PIPEDA.

6.Cookies

We use a small set of first-party cookies: one to remember your cart; one to remember your language choice; security cookies that protect sign-in; when you sign in, an httpOnly secure session cookie and, for business accounts, httpOnly cookies that remember which account you are ordering for; preference cookies that remember that you dismissed the cookie notice or an announcement, and how you like pages laid out (such as the list or card view on a quick-order page, or the supplier portal's side menu); and — if you arrive through a referral link or from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Perplexity — a 30-day cookie that remembers that source so we can attribute your order to it. When a payment form loads, our payment processor Stripe sets its own fraud-prevention cookies, described in Stripe's privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Your cart and any applied coupon, recently viewed and compared items, and display preferences are also kept in your browser's own storage. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
